How would you feel watching a West Ham team with no English or British players
like Chelsea tonight?

Wouldn’t seem right to me.

Not just West Ham: it's a real condemnation of our country's education and youth provisions, when a team from our own top league cannot justify fielding any home-grown players.

As long as they played with the passion expected of them. No issue.

I'd fucking hate it.
Having been brought up with all English sides winning the FA and ECW cups how else could I feel.

'Seeing as a lot of us have most empathy with home growns like Rice, Noble, Johnson, I wouldn't accept it with great pleasure.'

Exactly my feeling. Goes totally against the direction I want the club to go. It would either be a massive failure or desperate greed to have no home grown players to keep the tradition and character of the club.

So are you saying people can have a CONNECTED PRESENCE regardless of where they are from, Thickle?

I'm saying what we feel is nothing to do with where we are from. You don't get this? I suggest you start all over again with you life.

Re: How would you feel watching a West Ham team with no English or British players
Are you seriously suggesting that, lets say a Durch player can play for Celtic against Rangers and feel the same as any of the players born and bred in Glasgow?

Fucking clown.

Re: How would you feel watching a West Ham team with no English or British players
You're an idiot who claims to know what anyone feels on the basis of where they are from. That is certainly a fact whether it is my opinion or not.

Re: How would you feel watching a West Ham team with no English or British players
Dopey.

No one is doubting the talent of those players or that they put in some outstanding performances for the club.

But what does that has to do with their appreciation of the intensity of certain games?

They will know that some games have an extra edge to them but they wont feel it as much as home grown lads. Be the same if a player born in Birmingham ended up playing in the Lazio-Roma game.

One of your many problems is that no matter what thread you post on,you think your opinion is fact. This is why you are the most ridiclued cunt on here. You should really try to control that arrogance boy,it really sets you aside as a class one wanker

That's because they were foreign pros of enormous talent who put in some incredible performances for us and you're just a no-mark twit who can hardly use his own fucking language.

Dopey.

Complete and utter bollox. Those you have mentioned would have no idea about the intensity of our rivalry with Millwall.

Come to think of it,neither would you.

Pompous cunt.

Of course they can feel it - you reckon Di Canio, Tevez, Benayoun or Payet weren't feeling it? Really braincell, you are abysmally thick.

Roughly 20% of the U23s have non-UK nationalities, and another chunk are qualified to play for both UK and non-UK countries.

Will they count as "coming through the ranks" if they make it?

Re: How would you feel watching a West Ham team with no English or British players
Ideally we'd have a majority of 'our own' in the team but the game just isnt like that anymore. Iv'e often wondered, from a players point of view how intense a game like the North London derby can be when up to 20 players on the pitch are from overseas?
You can read up all you want about local rivalries and the history of such games but can you really feel it if you grew up in France/Nigeria?

Re: How would you feel watching a West Ham team with no English or British players
I got used to the reducing number of locally, home bread, players but when we field a team of foreigners for an important fixture a sad line will have been crossed.

Re: How would you feel watching a West Ham team with no English or British players
I think everyone would like to see English players in the team but the reality is that the 3 teams who are dominating the Premier league are mainly filled with foreign players, managed by 2 Germans & a Spaniard and owned by oil money, Yanks & a Russian criminal
